Shaping a Healthier Future: Lead, Innovate & Transform.

Royal College of Physicians of Ireland’s Annual Conference 2026 will look at the big stories that frame our health landscape. Bringing together world-class clinicians, our programme will provide a new lens through which to view our health world. From sharing expertise and practical information on wellbeing and managing obesity in our public meeting to reflecting on the Georgian Dublin of past President, Dr Henry Quin, and bringing health leaders together at St Luke’s Symposium, where we will explore opportunities to shape the future of healthcare. 

The conference is an associated event of Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and aligns with the broader Presidency agenda, tackling topics such as prevention, women’s health, and health system resilience and innovation.

Prof Donal O’Shea (Endocrinologist, St Vincent’s University Hospital, who specialises in Obesity management)

Dr Ximena Ramos Salas (Public Health Researcher and affiliated researcher at the Institute of Psychology at Lund University, Sweden, with a focus on preventing the perpetuation of weight bias and obesity stigma)

Prof Cathy Quinlan (Paediatric Nephrologist, Children’s Health Ireland and RCPI Clinical Lead for Artificial Intelligence)

Ms Liz Louis (Portraiture Curator, National Galleries of Scotland)

Prof James Kelly (Historian with focus on 18^th century Irish healthcare, Dublin City University)
