Public Meeting:
Living Well: A Public Conversation on Health, Wellbeing and Obesity

Chaired by journalist Alison O’Connor (The Sunday Times), the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland’s Public Meeting is an opportunity to hear from experts about the most up-to-date ways to stay healthy and well and to manage obesity.
This year, experts including Prof Donal O’Shea, Consultant Endocrinologist at St Vincent’s University Hospital, and Orla Walsh, one of Ireland’s leading dieticians, will offer practical tips to support healthier living. In a fractured social media environment, this public meeting is designed to cut through misinformation, bringing trusted experts directly to you with clear, evidence-based information.
There will also be a focus on obesity care, with insights into early diagnosis, person-centred approaches, and care pathways from Prof O’Shea, who specialises in obesity management, and Dr Ximena Ramos Salas, a public health researcher dedicated to preventing weight bias and obesity stigma. We will also be joined by Susie Birney, an obesity patient advocate nationally and through the European Coalition for People living with Obesity.
