S is for Self Expression, with artist Teoni

Timberland's global A-Z gives every letter of the alphabet a piece of the brand's story. London has its own chapter, incorporating the streets, sounds and people that make this city what it is. A living dictionary, created by the people who know London best.

What’s happening

Across three days, we're opening our doors and handing the space over to three London voices, each bringing a different letter of the dictionary to life through their own practice. First up: S is for Self Expression, with painter Teoni.

Teoni is a London-based fine art painter known for bold, confronting portraiture. For this residency, she's turning that eye on London itself, working live in the space and painting directly onto a run of Timberland T-shirts inspired by the city's people and visual codes.

The session

Come and watch Teoni create the piece from scratch in one continuous artwork, painted live across the day. Sessions run every 30 minutes, so you can drop in, see the work evolve, and be part of how it comes together.

Later in the evening, there is a chance to listen to Teoni discuss her work & potentially have a chance to win one of the custom T-shirts.

How it works

Sign up for a 30-minute slot between 11am and 5pm. Once you're in the space, you’ll be able to sign up for a seat at the 5pm conversation with Teoni. She’ll talk about her practice, the work and how London shaped it. Everyone who attends the space will be invited back, however we have limited seats available and this will be awarded on a first come first served basis.

Those who make it into the conversation will also be in the running to take home one of the 15 custom Teoni x Timberland T-shirts, created live during the day. At the end of the talk, the T-shirts will be drawn at random - each one a genuine bespoke piece.
