Building Crisis-Ready Coalitions: From Fragmentation to Readiness

Epidemics and pandemics present a real, immediate and accelerating danger to human life and the global economy. The risk of another pandemic on a scale similar to COVID-19 in our lifetimes is significant, with global losses from future pandemics estimated to be, on average, more than $700 billion each year.

As global leaders gather in New York for the 81st UN General Assembly High-Level Meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response (PPPR), the lesson is clear: no single nation, sector or institution can confront these emerging threats alone.

The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) cordially invites you to a high-level panel discussion, ‘Building Crisis-Ready Coalitions: From Fragmentation to Readiness;’.

This event will explore how through long-term partnerships across governments, CSOs, industry, regulators, research institutions and global health organisations, CEPI and its partners are helping to turn fragmented epidemic and pandemic activities into collective readiness towards the 100 Days Mission, the goal to make safe, effective, equitable and accessible vaccines available within the first 100 days of a pandemic threat.

Drawing on real-world examples of progress, including CEPI and partners’ rapid response to the Bundibugyo outbreak, our panel of global leaders will discuss the collective action required to ready ourselves to develop vaccine against future viral threats in as little as 100 days.
