Sunsets, Stories & the Territory Spirit

The 2026 ACWAP Development Seminar is set against the breathtaking backdrop of Darwin, NT, on the proud lands of the Larrakia Aboriginal people, the Traditional Owners and custodians of the region.
Darwin is a place of deep cultural significance and connection to Country. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are the world’s oldest continuing cultures, with an enduring relationship to land and sea spanning more than 75,000 years.
Delegates will have the opportunity to engage with First Nations perspectives, culture and leadership throughout their time in the Top End.
As the late Reverend Walter Fejo powerfully shared:
“You have come by way of the Larrakia Land. You will hear the voice of Larrakia ancestors. When you leave, the Larrakia message will stay with you.”
Beyond its cultural richness, Darwin is a vibrant, welcoming city known for its tropical lifestyle, natural beauty, innovative research, and strong sense of community — offering delegates a truly unforgettable conference experience.
