Welcome to ISTA 22

We are delighted to welcome you to the 22nd International Symposium on Toxicity Assessment (ISTA 22), to be held in Auckland, New Zealand, from 7–11 December 2026.

ISTA 22 will bring together researchers, practitioners, regulators, students, and industry professionals from around the world for a dynamic forum on the latest advances in toxicity assessment, environmental risk assessment, and ecotoxicology. Under the theme "Traditional and New Methodologies in Chemical Hazard Characterisation," the symposium will provide an important platform to share new research, exchange ideas, and explore innovative approaches that support environmental protection, ecosystem health, and sustainable decision-making.

We are especially pleased to host ISTA 22 in Auckland, a vibrant city where urban life is closely connected with the natural environment, from its harbours and coastlines to its volcanic landscapes and rich biodiversity. Held in early summer, the conference will offer not only an engaging scientific programme but also a memorable setting for collaboration, networking, and cross-disciplinary dialogue.

Abstract submissions are now open through the ISTA 22 webpage and will close on 15 June 2026 NZST. We warmly invite contributions across the broad fields of toxicity assessment, chemical hazard characterisation, ecotoxicology, environmental monitoring, emerging contaminants, New Approach Methodologies, omics, AI and machine learning, and related areas.
