Welcome to the 7th IMZRCB

Conference theme:

"Conservation in a connected world: Connecting evidence and innovation in shaping biodiversity futures"

Conserving biodiversity requires collaboration across disciplines, institutions, and communities. By connecting scientific evidence with innovative approaches, we can develop effective solutions to today's conservation challenges and build resilient futures for wildlife and ecosystems.

The 7th International Meeting on Zoo Research, Conservation and Biodiversity provides a platform to showcase cutting-edge research, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and explore how evidence-based practices and emerging technologies can help safeguard wildlife and ecosystems for future generations.

Topics may be related to any of our three conference areas.

Welcome Remarks

#IMZRCB2024

Jambo and Welcome to the 7th International Meeting on Zoo Research, Conservation and Biodiversity.

It is my great pleasure and honor to welcome you to the 7th International Meeting on Zoo Research, Conservation and Biodiversity taking place from 17 - 20 March 2027.

What began as an idea has grown into a valuable platform for sharing knowledge, exchanging perspectives, building collaborations, and inspiring new approaches to zoo research, conservation and the protection of our planet's incredible biodiversity. Over the past six editions, this meeting has brought together researchers, conservationists, zoo professionals, veterinarians, students and passionate advocates for nature from around the world.

As we prepare for the seventh edition, we have an opportunity to celebrate this milestone, to reflect on the progress we have made while looking ahead at the challenges and possibilities that lie before us. The unprecedented pressures facing species and ecosystems have never been greater, and this urgency highlights the important role of zoos and conservation institutions in research, visitor education, species protection, and biodiversity conservation. Collaboration across disciplines, institutions, and borders is essential if we are to address these challenges effectively.

I warmly invite you to be part of this international gathering. Share your research and experiences, challenge established ideas, and discover new opportunities for cooperation. Most importantly, I hope you will leave the meeting with new knowledge, new connections, and renewed inspiration to make a meaningful difference for biodiversity and the future of our planet.

We look forward to welcoming you in March 2027!

Yours sincerely,
