BACKGROUND
The symposium will feature keynote addresses from distinguished female scientists, complemented by prominent male experts, setting the stage for a compelling exchange of ideas. Dynamic cross-panel technical sessions will bring together specialists across all NATO STO domains, aiming to identify gaps and to generate the development of innovative, collaborative Technical Activity Proposals (TAPs).
IDEATION SPRINT
The Symposium will feature an immersive ideation sprint to spark innovation and foster ground-breaking discourse and visionary insights. This initiative is designed to encourage participants to explore and envision the development of EDTs over the next 50 years. It provides a valuable platform for the younger generation to reflect on their future roles and contribute innovative ideas aligned with NATO Science and Technology long-term priorities.
This event is an initiative originating from the NATO Research Task Group SET-SCI-345 “Empowering Women in NATO STO,” carried out in collaboration with the NATO Research Task Group SAS-AVT-SET-HFM-205 “Youth Perspective on Emerging and Disruptive Technologies.” While women now represent more than 50% of Masters and PhD graduates across NATO countries, this balance is not yet reflected within NATO STO structures. ASAI 2026 aims to strengthen and expand the network of women scientists and engineers, promote leadership and active participation, and better leverage the full spectrum of available talent, while welcoming participants of all genders in the spirit of inclusive scientific excellence.
