Scaling Interoperable V2X — In-Person Networking & Market engagement

About the event

Building on the success of our online event, we are bringing the V2X community together in person for a new networking and market engagement event on Thursday 15 October at Manchester Conference Centre. 

This interactive event will take the conversation further, giving you the opportunity to explore the areas under consideration for a future funding competition, share your views and help accelerate the deployment of V2X technologies across the UK. 

Unlike the previous online session, this in-person event is designed to create more space for meaningful conversations and new connections. Meet potential collaborators face to face, start building relationships across the V2X community and provide feedback that will help shape the competition’s direction and priorities. 

Subject to approvals, UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) expects to invest up to £18 million through a new grant funding competition delivered as part of the Missions Accelerator Programme. The Scaling Interoperable V2X competition is expected to launch later in 2026.

V2X topics under consideration:

• interoperability and standardisation 
• tackling grid connection challenges and market entry barriers 
• unlocking promising V2X use cases that could increase flexibility capacity while reducing local emissions and improving resilience, affordability and equity across the energy system 

The V2X Scale-up Accelerator sits within the Consumer Led Flexibility Challenge of the Clean Energy Superpower Mission, which aims to enable at least 2GW of additional flexibility on the system by 2030.
