From 99.5% to 99.9% sulfur removal: Axens’ SmartSulf® success story at KOC

This webinar highlights the successful deployment of Axens’ SmartSulf® technology at Kuwait Oil Co.’s Jurassic Production Facilities JPF-4 and JPF-5, commissioned in 2024 following the proven performance of the SmartSulf® unit at JPF-3. The patented Claus-based process uses switching catalytic reactors with internal cooling to achieve near-isothermal operation, enhanced sulfur conversion, and lower costs.

The session will present operational results demonstrating 99.9% sulfur removal efficiency and SO₂ emissions well below specification limits. It will also examine the integration of a compact caustic scrubbing polishing system that reduces utility consumption, CO₂ emissions, and capital costs compared with traditional tail-gas treatment approaches.
